The theme of the collection was ‘coincidence’. Coincidence has a large part to play in all my art. The materials I source are often used as a seed of creativity, letting them grow and develop in any direction they choose. With this piece I experimented widely with various physical techniques to represent my process thematically. I wanted to explore the role that fate plays within all our lives, and found myself considering the question: are we in control of our own destiny? Or has our path already been predetermined by some supernatural force?
